At New Victoria Hospital, our Private Breast Surgery Service offers a number of cosmetic surgical treatments to improve the aesthetics of the breasts. Our highly-experienced Breast Consultants are at the forefront of their field, making use of the latest surgical techniques to ensure every patient achieves the results they desire.

Whether you make the decision to undergo this form of Breast Surgery to correct asymmetry of the breasts, to reconstruct the breasts following a mastectomy, or to increase self-confidence through cosmetic improvement; you can rest assured that at New Victoria Hospital you will enjoy the highest standard of care in a friendly and comfortable environment.

Initial Consultation with a Breast Consultant

The first stage of treatment will involve an initial consultation with one of our renowned Breast Consultants. While this can vary depending on the procedure, they will look to acquire an understanding of why a patient is considering cosmetic Breast Surgery and the expectations they may have. This will allow the Consultant to put together an appropriate treatment plan, tailored to the patient.

The Consultant will also carry out a full medical assessment and review a patient’s general fitness to ensure suitability for surgery. Measurements and routine photographs will be taken so treatment can be accurately planned and monitored. Once they have the information they need the Consultant will then detail which surgical options are open to a patient and discuss any associated risks. A psychological assessment might be required for some patients.

What We Do

Breast Surgery We Provide at New Victoria Hospital?

At New Victoria Hospital, we provide a number of cosmetic Breast surgical treatments to improve the aesthetics of the breasts.

Surgical procedures include:

Breast augmentation is a procedure where the size and shape of a woman’s breast(s) are increased. Often chosen to help improve self-confidence and self-esteem, this form of Breast Surgery may be suitable for:

  • Any woman wishing for larger breasts
  • Any woman wanting to firm or re-shape their breasts following pregnancy or weight-loss
  •  Any woman wishing to correct imbalanced breasts as a result of pronounced asymmetry, Poland’s Syndrome or tuberous breasts
  • Any woman wishing to reconstruct their breasts following a mastectomy.

It is worth noting that Breast Augmentation Surgery is only performed on women whose breasts have fully developed.

Breast Reduction Surgery is a procedure where the breasts are reduced in size by removing breast tissue. The aim is to leave them more in proportion with the body. This surgery can be performed on both men and women and may be suitable for:

  • Anyone who is unhappy with the aesthetic of their breasts
  • Anyone whose breasts are causing them issues such as:

○ Neck/back/shoulder pain

○ Bra strap grooves in the shoulders

○ Rashes under the breasts

○ Unable to take part in some sporting activities

Breast Tightening, also known as Mastopexy, lifts the breasts into a more natural position, reducing sagging. Although a Mastopexy won’t significantly change the size of the breasts, it can be done in combination with a Breast Augmentation or a Breast Reduction Surgery. This form of Breast Surgery may be suitable for:

  • Anyone who wants to lift one, or both breasts due to sagging.
  • Women whose breasts have lost elasticity through childbirth or age.

While the results from the Breast Tightening treatment may not be permanent, they can have a significant impact on an individual’s self-confidence.

  • Nipple Correction

Surgery is an effective treatment for women wanting to fix issues surrounding their nipples, such problems include inverted nipples. Having inverted nipples can reduce some women’s confidence and leave them insecure about the appearance of their breasts. Nipple correction surgery is a safe and effective procedure to restore the nipples to their correct position. Usually, inverted nipples occur during puberty, but if you find your nipples have become inverted recently, you should see your GP in the first instance to exclude breast cancer risks.

  • Nipple Areola Reduction

This surgery is available to both sexes to reduce the overall size of the nipple. A Breast Surgeon will remove part of the outer circular area of the areola, the brown or pink pigmented part around the nipple. This is done to reshape and resize the areola to a preferred look.

  •  Male Gynecomastia

This treatment is available to men who want to reduce enlarged breast tissues. Both traditional open surgery or liposuction or combination of both can be performed, after an accurate assessment from a Breast Surgeon.

  •  Liposculpture

A treatment dedicated to women who are interested in breast enlargement but don’t want to use implants. Liposculpture is performed by taking the fat from the tummy or thighs and having it transferred into the breasts. It can also be used to treat deformity or defects following previous breast surgery.

Breast Lumpectomy

While each form of cosmetic Breast Surgery is different, patients can expect to spend 1 to 2 nights in hospital with recovery often taking around 3 weeks.
