Biography
Dr David Chan is an experienced General Practitioner having initially qualified as a pharmacist.
He graduated from Barts and The London School of Medicine and carried out his foundation years training in London and the South East covering a wide range of specialties including Respiratory Medicine, Urology, Emergency Medicine, Care of The Elderly, and Neonatology.
Dr Chan did his General Practice Vocational Training in Watford and the surrounding West Hertfordshire area covering a broad range of specialties giving him a broad training with a breadth of specialties to make him an all-round general practitioner, these included Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Dermatology and sexual health medicine.
Dr Chan worked in a modern primary care centre in a diverse area of North London before becoming a Partner in his current practice in New Addington, Croydon. He is involved in the teaching of medical students from various London medical schools where he encourages future doctors to become GPs. He also trains primary care pharmacists, primary care paramedics and physician associates.
Dr Chan is the clinical pharmacist supervisor for the local Primary Care Network. His practice has recently led on local diabetes care and on a LGBT clinic.
Dr Chan's general training and experience allows him to take a holistic approach having worked in a variety of settings and encountered patients from a wide range of cultural, ethnic, educational and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Outside of work, Dr Chan lives locally in Wimbledon with his young family and enjoys going out with them, eating out, taking his baby son to the local parks and catching up on the latest movies when his schedule allows.
