How many applicants will be selected?

There is no limit on the number of selected applicants. We will provide free medical care within the allocated budget for the initiative.

How will the applications be selected?

Applications will be evaluated from a clinical and ethical perspective by an appointed selection committee made up of local community ambassadors, Hospital board directors and The Victoria Foundation trustees.

Are there any specific criteria for the selection?

Applicants will be selected based on their need for treatment for a health condition, access to medical care and their personal story and circumstances.

How many words does my story need to be?

There is no word count limit. You can write as many words as you need to explain why you are really in need of a treatment and your application should be selected. We are looking to hear from individuals with inspiring life stories to share, encompassing narratives of triumph over adversity, demonstrations of resilience, or significant contributions to the local community despite their health struggles.

If I don’t give my consent to be photographed/filmed/interviewed, will I be excluded?

No, we will only take into account the selection criteria mentioned above. However, we would be grateful if you could give us the opportunity to document such us unique community initiative.
