This is an abdominal scan performed between 20 - 23 weeks of pregnancy designed to assess the baby’s anatomy in detail. The baby’s brain, face, spine, heart, stomach, bowel, kidneys and limbs are examined in detail during anomaly scanning, to make sure there are no structural anomalies.

If any abnormalities are detected during anomaly scanning, the significance of the findings and any further investigations required will be discussed in detail with our fetal medicine specialist at New Victoria Hospital.
