Dr Siva Mahendran is a leading Consultant Physician in Respiratory and Internal Medicine. He has been based at Kingston Hospital since 2017 where he provides clinical leadership in Pleural disorders, Asthma and Respiratory Research. He is the Trust Chair for Medicines Management and has overseen numerous patient safety and service improvement initiatives.

Dr Mahendran qualified at University College London Medical Schools and has been on the specialist register since 2017. He trained at London’s leading hospitals for respiratory medicine including the Royal Brompton, Guys and St Thomas' and Kings College Hospitals. Dr Mahendran has completed comprehensive training in scientific and clinical research leading to a PhD in Respiratory Immunology from King’s College London. He was the principal investigator for the ground-breaking Covid-19 Recovery Clinical trial and provided expert guidance through the pandemic to clinical teams and guideline committees. He has advanced training in bronchoscopy and ultrasound guided pleural procedures and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and is also an examiner for the RCP’s post-graduate exams.

Dr Mahendran is valued for his ability to combine a detailed understand of the latest clinical advances with a personal, patient centred approach. Dr Mahendran is available to see anyone who is concerned about their lung health as well as patients with known conditions including Asthma, COPD, Sarcoidosis, respiratory infections or Sleep Apnoea.
