Biography
Dr Goel graduated in 2004 from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical Schools, London. After gaining comprehensive Medical experience working around London and the South East, he entered Gastroenterology and General Medicine specialist training in 2008. He spent 3 years at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals where he undertook clinical research into the Genetics and Microbiology of Crohn’s disease and inflammatory bowel disease. During his career, he has been fortunate to undertake clinical attachments in Australia, India and Japan and in the South Pacific.
Dr Goel has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles, authored many abstracts at international meetings and written a textbook chapter. He has also participated in a novel international Crohn’s disease treatment trial as a sub-investigator and is currently involved in clinical research.
Dr Goel finished his registrar training at King’s College Hospital and in 2016 was appointed as a full time Consultant in Gastroenterology at Kingston Hospital. He is currently the lead for Inflammatory Bowel Disease services and Video Capsule Endoscopy services. In 2022, Dr Goel was awarded an MSc degree by London South Bank University in strategic leadership. In 2024, Dr Goel was awarded an MD Res degree by King's College London for his thesis on the microbiome and genetics in oral and gut Crohn's disease.
Dr Goel also offers a Video Capsule Endoscopy Service and an Acid Reflux Testing Service (wireless pH monitoring) at New Victoria Hospital.
