Dr Claire Fletcher is a Consultant Dermatologist at New Victoria Hospital. She has more than 20 years experience in Dermatology and has been a Consultant since 2003. She was appointed a Consultant Dermatologist at Kingston Hospital, where she worked for 15 years.

Her undergraduate training took place at King's College, London where she graduated in 1990. In her final year, she was awarded the Dermatology prize. Her elective was spent in Australia combining adult and paediatric Dermatology in Adelaide with the Flying Obstetric and Gynaecology Service in Queensland.

Dr Fletcher passed the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians examination in 1995, whilst working as a Dermatology Senior House Officer at the Middlesex and University College Hospitals, London. A period of research then followed, at Guy’s Hospital, developing a clinical diagnostic aid for toenail fungal infections. Clinical Registrar posts were subsequently undertaken at Guy’s Hospital, Lewisham Hospital and at the world-renowned St. John’s Institute of Dermatology. She was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in 2002 and gained entry onto the GMC Specialist Register.

Dr Fletcher has clinical interests in pigmented lesions (moles) and dermoscopy - including stored serial digital dermatoscopic images - skin cancer, infectious dermatology, phototherapy and teenage acne. She was instrumental in setting up the multidisciplinary Skin Cancer Service at Kingston Hospital in 2003. Dr Fletcher was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2007. Whilst working at Kingston Hospital she held a level 2 Clinical Excellence Award.

After 28 years of NHS service, Dr Fletcher retired in April 2018.

Dr Fletcher receives excellent feedback from her patients; anonymised data collected for revalidation in 2020 showed that 100% of her patients were happy with the care that she provided and 100% were happy to see her again.

Dr Fletcher is registered with all the major insurance companies and is also happy to see self-funding patients. Her charges are in line with the Insurers Schedule of fees. She holds BUPA Premier Consultant status and is an AXA PPP Fee Approved Specialist.
